Magic Cookie Bars

Don’t make these if you can’t avoid temptation — they’re too yummy.

Magic Cookie Bars is a Best of Bridge nostalgic classic recipe. Cornflakes, chocolate chips, coconut, condensed milk… these crunchy sweet bars will bring back memories of cozy kitchens, family baking adventures and special treats.

Ingredients
  1. 2 cups crushed corn flakes 500 mL
  2. 3 tbsp granulated sugar 45 mL
  3. 1⁄2 cup butter 125 mL
  4. 1 cup chocolate chips 250 mL
  5. 1 ½ cups shredded coconut 375 mL
  6. 1 cup chopped pecans 250 mL
  7. 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz/398 mL)
Instructions
  1. Mix crushed cornflakes, granulated sugar and butter thoroughly and pat into a 9-inch (23 cm) square pan.
  2. Sprinkle chocolate chips, shredded coconut, chopped pecans over first mixture in order, then drizzle condensed milk over all.
  3. Bake at 350°F (180°C) for 30 to 35 minutes.
  4. Makes 24.
